I remember enjoying these always whenever my zia Angela would bake these aromatic sweets inside her wood-burning oven on my visits to Calabria, Italy. She typically stored them in glass containers for me to bring back to NYC layered with bay leaves for added flavor. These aromatic stuffed figs are always gifted to loved ones.
