Brooklyn BBQ Sauce
This is BBQ sauce the City Saucery way: bold, easy, and unmistakably Brooklyn.
The secret? It all starts with our Fancy Ketchup—a rich reduction of overripe tomatoes and apples, brightened with warm spices like ginger, cinnamon, and allspice . It’s packed with deep umami, tang, and a touch of sweetness all on its own, making it the perfect shortcut to a next-level BBQ sauce without the fuss. No chopping, no sautéing—just real flavor from pantry staples and a few minutes on the stove.
Why Brooklyn? Well,
We're based in Brooklyn ✅
Our fancy ketchup is made in Brooklyn ✅
And yes, Michael was born in Brooklyn ✅
So no Memphis or Carolina vibes here—this is BBQ with a local soul and saucy swagger.
The final flavor? It’s tangy, a little sweet, with warm, smoky notes and an unexpected twist of espresso that adds depth and mystery. Brush it on grilled veggies, tofu, burgers, or anything that could use a bold city kick.

PREPARATION
Add vegetable broth (or water) to a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. This helps prevent sticking and allows everything to blend smoothly.
Whisk in all other ingredients, starting with the liquids and adding the powders last.
Stir to fully combine, then bring to a gentle simmer.
Simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors are well combined.
Taste and adjust:
Add more brown sugar or maple for extra sweetness.
More vinegar for sharper tang.
A dash more smoked paprika for added smokiness.
Let cool slightly before using. Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
