Fileja pasta is Calabria’s very own pride and joy pasta shaped like a long noodle formed by hand using knitting needles. A very old technique in fact that the pasta is sometimes called Maccheroni al Ferretto. This pasta is ideal for classic tomato sauces or for meat-based sauces as well.
We paired this classic Calabrian shape with our classic Ugly Sauces (original and spicy) because classics belong together. Buon appetito!

The “ugly” tomatoes that are either too ripe, bruised and oddly shaped are the most delicious. We cook them down for hours and hours turning them into a delicious sauce that you can build on or use 'as is' on pasta, fish, veggies and pizza or any recipe calling for fresh tomato sauce.

Fileja Pastas
Fileja (pro: fee-lay-ah) is a typical Calabrian pasta. It is handmade using knitting needles (not kidding!). Also, with a lot of love and a lot of muscle. Enjoy fileja with a hearty pork ragu or a simple and delicious tomato sauce. It takes a bit longer to cook it al dente, but totally worth the wait.
