Chop Chop Chili
This easy and delicious chili is a perfect solution for a quick “chop-chop” weekday dinner, requiring minimal preparation and cooking time, but still incredibly unique and satisfying.
Simply combine our hearty Onion Ragu with any selection of pantry staples like black or red kidney beans in a pot, allow the mixture to simmer for just a short while, and you'll have a rich, satisfying meal ready to serve. An optional splash of single malt whiskey makes it that much more special.
This no-fuss recipe not only delivers on taste but also offers the convenience that busy weeknights demand, making it an ideal option for families and individuals alike.
Serves 2-4
INGREDIENTS:
1 jar Onion Ragu
1 can (15oz) black beans
1 can (15oz) kidney beans
1-2 oz single malt whiskey (optional)
salt & pepper to taste

PREPARATION:
Mix the Onion Ragu and the beans (including their canning liquid) in a medium pot or dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cover and bring to a boil mixing every couple of minutes.
Once it boils, crack the lid open to allow steam and simmer for about 15 minutes, mixing occasionally. Taste for salt/pepper and adjust accordingly. If the chili gets too thick, stir 1/4 cup of water or broth into the pot and simmer for a couple of minutes to incorporate.
(Optional): Right after plating, stir a splash (1 oz) of the whiskey into each dish (adding it into the pot would evaporate the alcohol, diminishing the effect).
Additionally, you can drizzle the chili with some extra virgin olive oil, hot chili oil, or top with a scoop of sour cream. Enjoy!
